Stoke-on-Trent Destination Guide
Stoke-on-Trent is known by the locals as the potteries. Originally a federation of six towns, it now forms a city almost twelve miles long with an area of 36 square miles. And how about this - Stoke On Trent is home to the oldest club in the Premier League, also considered to be the second oldest professional football club in the world. There is also a 'First Citizen' of Stoke-on-Trent. This title belongs to the Lord Mayor, which is very unique for a town or city. The title of Lord Mayor was first conferred on the City by King George V on 10 July, 1928.
